How to Find Someone's Facebook From a Phone Number

For years you could type a phone number into Facebook's search bar and land on its owner's profile. Facebook disabled that in 2018 after it was abused to collect profile data at scale, and it hasn't come back. Any site claiming to be a "Facebook phone lookup" is really doing one of the methods below.

Get the name, then search Facebook

This is the method that works most often. A reverse phone lookup shows a free preview (masked name, city, and how many records exist), and the full report, at 1–3 creditsdepending on how much the record holds, gives you the owner's name, age range, past cities, and relatives.

Search the name on Facebook and filter the People results by city. With a common name, the relatives from the report are the best tiebreaker: family members usually appear in each other's friend lists, photos, and comments, which a same-name stranger's profile won't have.

Check the number in WhatsApp or Messenger

Save the number to your contacts and start a new WhatsApp chat. Depending on the owner's privacy settings, WhatsApp may show the name they chose and their profile photo, and a photo you can reverse-image-search is often enough to find their Facebook. Messenger can also suggest people from your phone contacts. Both apps sync your contacts when you do this, so remove the number afterwards if you only needed a quick look.

Use Facebook's contact upload

In the Facebook app, Find friends can upload your phone contacts and suggest the accounts linked to them. It only surfaces people who let others look them up by the number on their account, and it uploads your whole address book, so you may prefer to delete the uploaded contacts in your settings once you're done.

Search Google for their profile

Public Facebook profiles and pages are indexed by Google. With a name, these operators cut through the noise:
