- Searching and previewing matches is free: you can see candidate people, their age ranges, and locations without paying. Unlocking a full report costs 1–3 credits depending on how much the record holds ($0.25 a credit, or as little as $0.15 on a larger pack). New accounts start with 5 free credits.
- What shows up in a people search report?
- Depending on public sources: current and previous phone numbers, email addresses, address history with date ranges, possible relatives and associates, and linked public social profiles. Every field carries source attribution and a last-seen date.
- What if the name is really common?
- Add a city, state, or approximate age when searching. The free preview shows enough detail (locations and possible relatives) to identify the right person before you spend a credit.
- Will the person know I searched for them?
- No. Searches are private, encrypted, and never shared or sold. The person you search is never notified.
- Can I use this to screen a tenant or job applicant?
- No. HooDat is not a Consumer Reporting Agency and may not be used for employment, tenant screening, credit, insurance, or any FCRA-regulated purpose. See the acceptable-use policy for details.
